IRA Contribution Limits Increased for 2026

Gold IRA Update · September 10, 2026

The annual IRA contribution limit increased in 2026. Individuals younger than 50 may contribute as much as $7,500, compared with $7,000 in 2025. People age 50 or older may contribute as much as $8,600, compared with $8,000 last year. These limits apply to the combined total placed into all traditional and Roth IRAs owned by the same person. View the current IRS contribution limits.

The annual limit applies to new contributions, not qualifying rollovers. Someone moving existing retirement money from an employer plan or another IRA is not restricted to a $7,500 rollover. Whether a contribution is deductible, whether someone may contribute to a Roth IRA and whether a rollover is taxable depend on the account structure and the individual's circumstances.

The same limits apply when a self-directed IRA is used to hold eligible precious metals. Account owners should establish and fund the account through their custodian before selecting metals. Visit Pryce House Precious Metals IRAs for current eligible-product availability and itemized dealer pricing.

Contribution, deduction and rollover rules depend on individual circumstances. Consult the IRA custodian or a qualified tax professional before completing a transaction.
