Design Record

The approved rendering and written specifications together form the design record for the commission. Written specifications control if they conflict with a rendering. The design record includes:

• The final approved rendering
• Written product specifications
• Stone description and grading information, if applicable
• Metal type and fineness
• Approximate dimensions and weight where stated
• Ring size or other fit measurement
• Finish
• Price
• Revision status
• Any expressly agreed tolerances or exclusions

Natural Variation

Gemstones, precious metals, hand finishing, and manufacturing processes may produce reasonable variations in color, pattern, proportions, dimensions, weight, texture, and appearance. Screen images and renderings do not reproduce every real-world characteristic.

Revisions

The quote includes the number of design revisions stated in the commission agreement. Additional revisions or changes after approval may affect the price and completion estimate.

Payment

Payment terms are stated in the written commission agreement. Production begins only after the required payment and written design approval have been received.

Custom Materials And Customer Stones

Any customer-supplied stone or material must be inspected and accepted before use. Existing damage, undisclosed treatments, inclusions, fragility, or setting risk may limit what work can be performed. Specific responsibility for customer-supplied property must be stated in the commission agreement.

Final Sale

Custom commissions are made to the customer's approved specifications and are final sale after production begins, except where required by law or where the finished piece materially fails to conform to the agreed design record.

Conformity

If the completed piece materially fails to conform to the approved design record, Pryce House will determine an appropriate correction, which may include repair, alteration, remanufacture, or another agreed resolution.

Sizing And Fit

The customer is responsible for confirming the requested size and fit before approval. Resizing or alteration after production is not included unless expressly stated in the commission agreement. Some designs cannot be resized.

Service After Delivery

Cleaning, maintenance, resizing, repair, and future service are not included unless expressly stated in writing. Normal wear, accidental damage, misuse, and work performed by another jeweler are not manufacturing defects.

Timing

Production and delivery dates are estimates unless Pryce House expressly guarantees a date in writing. Supplier, manufacturing, stone, carrier, customs, and other circumstances outside reasonable control may affect timing.

Delivery

The completed piece is shipped using tracking, declared-value insurance, and the applicable signature service. Delivery terms and charges are stated in the commission agreement.

Cancellation

Before materials are committed or production begins, cancellation terms are governed by the written agreement. After production begins, payments may become nonrefundable because materials and labor have been committed to the custom piece.
