Rapaport's latest completed monthly price report showed mixed movement across polished-diamond sizes in July. Its index for 1-carat diamonds was unchanged, ending 13 consecutive months of declines. The 0.30-carat index increased 1.6%, the 0.50-carat index increased 1.8%, and the 3-carat index increased 0.2%. De Beers reported $665 million in consolidated rough-diamond sales during the second quarter of 2026, compared with $1.185 billion during the second quarter of 2025. Total Q2 sales volume was 7.1 million carats, while the consolidated average realized price was $110 per carat, compared with $174 per carat one year earlier. De Beers' average rough-diamond price index was 17% lower year over year for the quarter. View the official De Beers production report.
GIA signed an agreement in May to acquire a 30% ownership interest in Tracr, the diamond-provenance platform developed by De Beers. More than five million rough diamonds have been registered on the platform at their source. Since January 2025, newly sourced De Beers rough diamonds weighing one carat or more have been registered with single-country-of-origin information. Eligible GIA reports can include provenance information recorded through Tracr. Read the official GIA announcement.

Diamond pricing depends on the individual stone's carat weight, cut, color, clarity, grading report, fluorescence, proportions and other characteristics. Indexes and producer reports describe defined market segments and should not be treated as quotations for individual diamonds.
