What the estimated price means

Each USD range is a planning estimate for sourcing a comparable watch in the condition stated on its listing, with original box and papers unless noted otherwise. Unworn means never worn; like-new means pre-owned with minimal signs of wear. The terms are not interchangeable.

Vintage watches: Estimates use the condition and accessories explicitly stated on each listing. Very good vintage condition may include wear, patina, polishing or disclosed service parts; it does not mean like-new or never worn. Original box and papers are not assumed where the listing says otherwise. Archive extracts and service documents are not original sales papers. A comparable reference is a research assumption, not confirmation of the watch pictured.

Research may use dealer asking prices and documented historical auction results. Each listing identifies its evidence. Asking prices are not completed sales; historical auction results are not current offers. Auction currencies and sale dates must be kept in context, and buyer’s premiums and other charges depend on the auction’s terms. USD equivalents displayed by listing platforms fluctuate with exchange rates.

A range is not a fixed price, appraisal, offer, reservation or availability guarantee. Reference, size, material, dial, year, condition, originality, accessories and market changes can affect the final price. Taxes, shipping and any other charges will be specified in your written quote; do not assume they are included in the estimate. Confirm the exact watch and final quote before purchasing.

Sourcing difficulty: 1–5

The score estimates how difficult it may be to find a comparable watch in the stated condition and price range. Higher means harder to source, not better quality.

  • 1 — Readily found: Comparable examples are commonly available.
  • 2 — Usually findable: Some searching and selection may be needed.
  • 3 — Selective supply: Fewer examples meet the desired configuration, condition and budget.
  • 4 — Difficult: The exact configuration or a complete example is scarce.
  • 5 — Exceptionally difficult: Very rare; specialist contacts or auction access may be needed.

Scores are Pryce House editorial assessments, not live inventory counts or promised delivery times. Provisional means the exact reference or condition still needs confirmation. Vintage watches without a price range are scored for finding a comparable original example.
