ARTICLE: Lady's ring, 18kt yellow gold and platinum, centering one oval opal within a bead set diamond halo.

MOUNTING: Bi-metal construction. The center stone is secured in an 18kt yellow gold bezel, set against a platinum halo and shank. Diamonds are bead set throughout the platinum.

CENTER STONE: One oval opal weighing 7.53 carats. Play of color displays red, orange, purple, yellow, and green, of vivid saturation and broad distribution across the face of the stone.

ACCENT STONES: Round brilliant cut diamonds, bead set, total weight approximately 1.66 carats. Graded approximately F in color and VS1 in clarity.

CONDITION: Examined under magnification. All stones present and secure at the time of examination. Mounting sound with no evidence of prior repair. No crazing observed in the opal.

REMARKS: Red is the least common and most sought after color in an opal's play of color, and its presence here alongside the full remaining spectrum places this stone well above commercial grade. The yellow gold bezel is a deliberate choice, warming the body of the opal in a way a white metal bezel would not, while the platinum halo keeps the diamonds reading cleanly white. Opal is comparatively soft and sensitive to impact and to sudden changes in temperature or humidity. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning should be avoided.

Weights and grades stated are approximate and determined while the stones are mounted, in accordance with standard practice for jewelry examined in the setting.
